Job Summary
EBG Group is looking for an experienced Senior Backend & Web Development Engineer to manage, maintain, and develop 50+ websites and landing pages across its multi-brand portfolio. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Node.js, WordPress, website management, hosting infrastructure, API integrations, security, and production deployments.
The candidate will take ownership of website operations, ensure optimal performance and security, and support the organization’s evolving digital requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, maintain, and optimize 50+ websites and landing pages across multiple brands.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance backend systems using Node.js.
- Work with WordPress, Shopify, Framer, and custom-developed websites.
- Handle website updates, debugging, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Manage domains, DNS records, SSL certificates, hosting environments, and server configurations.
- Work with GoDaddy, cPanel, and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and DigitalOcean.
- Develop and integrate REST APIs, CRM systems, payment gateways, and third-party services.
- Support front-end development, landing page creation, and urgent marketing campaign requirements.
- Implement website security best practices and conduct regular security checks.
- Manage GitHub repositories, version control, deployment workflows, and code maintenance.
- Monitor website uptime, performance, technical health, and availability.
- Maintain automated backups, disaster recovery procedures, and website migration processes.
- Collaborate with marketing, design, product, and business teams to deliver technical requirements.
- Document technical processes, maintain operational guidelines, and support junior developers.
- Identify and resolve technical issues while ensuring minimal disruption to live websites.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- 3–5 years of professional experience in web development, preferably with a strong backend focus.
- Strong hands-on experience with Node.js and server-side JavaScript development.
- Practical experience managing WordPress websites, including themes, plugins, and customization.
- Familiarity with Shopify, Framer, and custom website platforms.
- Good knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and modern web technologies.
- Strong understanding of REST API development, third-party integrations, and backend troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience with Git, GitHub, and version control workflows.
- Knowledge of domain management, DNS configuration, SSL/TLS, hosting panels, and server environments.
- Understanding of website security, performance optimization, backups, and recovery processes.
- Experience with SQL and/or NoSQL databases.
- Ability to manage multiple websites, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
- Strong analytical, debugging, documentation, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of technical operations.
Hosting, Infrastructure & Deployment
- Experience managing domains, DNS records, nameservers, SSL certificates, and website hosting.
- Familiarity with GoDaddy, cPanel, VPS, and cloud hosting environments.
- Understanding of website migration, DNS propagation, backups, and post-deployment verification.
- Knowledge of deployment workflows, server configurations, and production troubleshooting.
- Ability to maintain website uptime, implement security measures, and optimize performance.
- Familiarity with automated backups, disaster recovery, and rollback procedures.
Preferred Skills
- Experience managing and scaling multiple websites across different brands.
- Knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or DigitalOcean.
- Exposure to CI/CD pipelines, workflow automation, and deployment optimization.
- Understanding of technical SEO, Core Web Vitals, and website performance improvements.
- Familiarity with Docker and containerized environments.
- Knowledge of database optimization, CMS architecture, and plugin development.
- Experience with e-commerce platforms, payment gateways, CRM systems, and external API integrations.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, multi-brand business environment.
Key Expectations
The selected candidate will serve as the central technical owner for website operations and digital infrastructure across EBG Group.
The candidate is expected to:
- Maintain the performance, security, reliability, and scalability of 50+ websites.
- Independently manage website updates, integrations, deployments, and technical troubleshooting.
- Ensure reliable hosting infrastructure, backups, and recovery procedures.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams to execute website-related requirements efficiently.
- Recommend technical improvements and establish maintainable development practices.
- Take ownership of technical decisions and ensure the continuous improvement of digital properties.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Equivalent practical experience and a strong technical portfolio will also be considered.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.
- A portfolio or GitHub profile showcasing relevant projects is an advantage.
- Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong ownership, adaptability, reliability, and commitment to delivering quality work.
